One Homeless Night

Homes for Harrison County's "One Homeless Night" is a sleep-out event created to raise awareness about homelessness in Harrison County. Residents are invited to spend one homeless night to gain a better understanding of what it is like to be without a home. Participants will also have the option of visiting local agencies the following day so they can experience the struggles and difficulties that homeless citizens face, such as receiving health care, getting food, and housing. Participants will have the opportunity to choose between two different tours of  these local agencies (agencies who provide public services) that will allow them to step into the shoes of someone who is experiencing homelessness. Helping homeless citizens obtain housing creates the stability a person needs to maintain positive growth and saves tax payers money by reducing the amount of public services used.

If you cannot attend the sleep-out or agency tours please visit our tent site in the vacant lot off of Chestnut Street as you are entering route 50 in Clarksburg on Sept. 8th to learn more about Homes For Harrison's homeless programs. We are accepting donations at the campsite from 8 a.m. to noon. You can also donate online by clicking here. Campsite set up starts at 2 p.m. on Sept. 8th.

Registration is $25 per participant. Please bring your own shelter for the sleep-out.
