Join us at the United Way Gift Wrapping Booth at Meadowbrook Mall where shoppers donate to United Way, and we wrap their gifts with care!

Gather Your Crew

We’re looking for groups of 2 to 4 volunteers to cover shifts.

Even better, have your group take a half or full day and rotate shifts among yourselves.

Individuals also welcome to join!

What You’ll Do

Wrap gifts with holiday cheer
Greet shoppers and share the spirit of giving
Help raise funds for United Way’s impactful community programs

Gift Wrapping Booth Volunteer Coordinator

United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties is looking for a volunteer to help coordinate schedules for our annual Gift Wrapping Booth at Meadowbrook Mall from December 4th - 24th.

This volunteer will assist United Way staff by reaching out to existing gift wrapping booth volunteers, helping schedule shifts, and connecting with new volunteers and businesses that are interested in participating. The goal is simply to help keep the schedule organized and ensure volunteers know when and where they are needed.

Responsibilities

Contact returning volunteers to see if they'd like to help this year.
Help fill booth shifts by scheduling volunteers throughout the season.
Follow up with individuals, groups, and businesses interested in volunteering.
Share schedules and reminders with volunteers as needed.
Let United Way staff know about any open shifts or scheduling questions.

What We're Looking For

Friendly and comfortable communicating by phone and email.
Organized and dependable.
Enjoys working with people and supporting community efforts.

Time Commitment A few hours each week leading up to the event and during the gift wrapping booth season. Most of the work can be done from home on a flexible schedule.

Why It Matters The Gift Wrapping Booth is a longstanding holiday tradition that raises funds to support our Annual Campaign which helps fund 19 local nonprofit Partner Agencies. 100% of every dollar raised will go directly to one of these nonprofits. By helping coordinate volunteers, you'll play an important role in making this community fundraiser a success.

Volunteers Needed: Help Us Get Our Signs Campaign-Ready by September 24!

Do you know your way around power tools and basic carpentry projects? Or, maybe you like painting outside on a beautiful late summer day. We need your skills!

United Way is looking for handy, skilled volunteers to help rebuild and paint 8 roadside signs throughout Harrison and Doddridge Counties before our Campaign Kickoff on September 24 . These signs help raise awareness of United Way's work in our community, and we need a team of doers to get them looking their best.

Skills that would be especially helpful:

Ability to climb and work from ladder (signs 8' tall, and some are a couple feet off the ground)
Operating power tools
Securing stakes in the ground
Measuring and leveling
General construction or handyman experience
Ability to work outdoors

Whether you're a contractor, carpenter, tradesperson, weekend DIY warrior, or just someone who enjoys building things or painting, we'd love your help.

The deadline is important: Our goal is to have every sign rebuilt and installed before our Campaign Kickoff on September 24 . That's just a few weeks away, and we're counting on skilled volunteers to help us get the job done before we launch this year's campaign.
